Beds
I wonder who invented beds to rest our tired, weary heads.
I don’t know how we’d do without a bed where we can just stretch out.
When you buy beds you just can’t lose, you have a lot of kinds to choose;
water, brass and even wood, Check it out, make sure it’s good.
Mattresses are always fun to try to buy the perfect one.
Not firm, not soft, just check the rack, but, get the one best for your back.
You’d think that one would be impressed, if they knew how I dressed my bed in lace, and satins, too, I only buy the best.
Down comforters are quite the thing, because of all the warmth they bring.
Two hundred dollars now you said? Oh well, it’s worth it for my bed!
We make them up, we strip them down; we turn the mattresses around.
We smooth the sheets, no wrinkles show, we fuss and clean and groom.
Our bed, it must be perfect, to never leave the room.
No one may sit upon it! Don’t ever muss it, please!
It must stay perfect all day long, yet no one ever sees.
We dress them up to look just right, and there they sit until its night.
When bedtime comes, it’s different now; we just don’t seem to care.
We throw the covers on the floor, the comforter on the chair.
We scrunch the pillows in a ball so we can better see,
the night time shows and stories, that are coming on TV.
I don’t know why we fuss so much, and spend so darn much money,
When all we do is climb inside and then say, “Good night, honey!”
