A troubled mind
is heartbreaking;
It also causes
heart-aching.
You can’t see the sun
through all of the clouds,
They block all your vision,
and cause you to doubt.
You can’t find the beauty
the Lord has made;
You find gloom and despair;
lose control of your fate.
The world all around you
is shutting you in.
It’s so hard to focus,
or manage a grin.
You blame yourself
for the state of your mind,
When, indeed, you are innocent, of such a crime!
Your despair’s a result
of chemicals in your brain,
They are unbalanced which causes you fear and pain.
It makes you unsure
of things that you did;
you wonder what happened
to you as a kid.
It has nothing to do
with what you have done;
It’s a depressing condition, which isn’t much fun.
I know you have dark days,
and darker days, too,
Your family is praying,
for healing, for you.
Keep thinking positive,
there’s help on the way,
With counselors and medicine, you’ll soon find a day;
When you’re happy and joyful, and just want to say:
I’m on my way to a better life and a brand-new day!
