American Red Cross needs donors to give blood during Trauma Awareness Month this May and throughout the year to trauma centers. One car accident victim can use as many as 100 units of blood. There are about 11 units of blood in an average adult’s body.

Blood donors may schedule an appointment by downloading the free Red Cross blood donor app at www.RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Red Cross blood, platelets or plasma donors from May 1 through June 10, 2019, will receive a five dollar Amazon.com gift card via email (restrictions apply).
