Public Armed Forces Day service, Hanover Township (NorCo). LTC Timothy A. Brooks, Pennsylvania National Guard, speaker. Music by brass and wind ensemble of Nitschmann MS and the brass ensemble of the American Legion Band of Bethlehem. 10 a.m. Armed Services Park, 3630 Jacksonville Road.

Saturday, May 25

Northampton County Memorial Day Festival, open to the public, no admission fee. Award ceremony (youth, veteran, volunteer, emergency personnel), live music, food, demonstrations, vendors, crafters, nonprofits. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Louise W. Moore Park, 151 Country Club Road, Easton.

Community Appreciation Day - National Museum of Industrial History: all ages; sponsored by Moravian Village. Youth activities, raffle, documentary, “Men at Lunch”: 10:30 a.m., “Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter”- 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit nmih.org.

2019 National Memorial Day Parade, Nitschmann MS is one of the bands representing the 50 states in a tribute to past and present American heroes. Daniel Zettlemoyer is the band director.

2019 sixth annual Taps Over Bethlehem, begins at 8 a.m. More than three dozen trumpet players will sound taps one after another for more than three miles, from Nisky Hill Cemetery to Memorial Park Cemetery. Information or to register to perform, call 610-570-8321 or email jazz111@aol.com.

Bethlehem Memorial Day parade, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Memorial Park Cemetery ceremony, hosted by the United Veterans of Bethlehem, working with the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council and the City of Bethlehem as sponsors. Participants line up at 8:30 a.m. and step off at 9 a.m. at Liberty HS on Linden St., and head north to the cemtery.

Ninth annual Our Hometown Heroes, memorial of local soldiers, their rank, branch of service, era of service and hometown. SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way. Live music, empowerment performances; meet-up and workshop (email womenveteransempowered@gmail.com if you would like to take part); “The Unknowns” documentary screening; luminary display (to participate, complete online registration form); memorial service to remember Lehigh Valley’s fallen soldiers.
