Leo John McCloskey, 83, of Northampton, died May 2, 2019, at his son’s residence in Homestead, Fla. He was the husband of the late Mary Claire (Anderson) McCloskey for 55 years.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Leo and Agnes D. (Kearney) McCloskey.
He was a graduate of and earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Newark College of Engineering.
He was a manager of commercial and industrial services for PPL until he retired in 1995. He was a consultant for Trigen Energy Corporation, Philadelphia, until 2000.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Walnutport.
He was on the Northampton Area School District Board of Directors for 10 years and was president 1982-1983. Active in the Boy Scouts of America, he was a Minsi Trails Trexler District chairman for four years.
He is survived by five children, Thomas with Ayda, Marianne, Catherine, Rosemary and Leahanne with Brad; and nine grandchildren, George, Adam, Dana, Michael, Lily, Ty, Sadie, Rori and Kevin.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael R.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. May 9 at the church, 4412 Mountain View Drive, Walnutport.
