Donald W. Smith, 87, of Whitehall, died May 1, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Bertha A. (Reichstetter) Smith for 64 years.

He was a son of the late Samuel J. and Hilda I. (Heckman) Smith.

He was in the U.S. Army in France.

He was an Allentown firefighter for 31 years until retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Scott A. and his wife Leslie and David W. and his wife Beth; three grandchildren, Samantha, Cassandra and Alex; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly; a son, Dean; and a brother, Samuel.

Services will be private.
