Daniel F. Schaffer Sr., 80, of Northampton, died April 26, 2019, at his home. He was the husband of Barbara (Regits) Schaffer for 57 years.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Clarence F. and Irene (Longenberger) Schaffer.

He was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.

He retired in 1999 after 43 years as a forklift mechanic at Tarkett Inc.

He was a member of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa and her husband Jason Reiman; a son, Daniel Jr. and his wife Dianna; six grandchildren, Isabel, Noah, Brice, Dugan, Sydney and Caden; and two sisters, Irene and Audrey.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Marie; a brother, Clarence; and a sister, Lillian.

There will be a viewing 8:30-10 a.m. at the funeral home, 326 E. 21 St., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m., at Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton; both May 3.
