Locals inducted at Kutztown
Kutztown University inducted two local students into the Tau Sigma National Transfer Honor Society at its induction ceremony on April 11.
Beth Nelson and Genaro Robles, of the Bethlehem area, have been recognized as transfer students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their first semester at Kutztown University.
Keri Appleman, of Bethlehem, was inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education on April 10. To be inducted, Kutztown University student education majors must have a 3.50 GPA.

Resident become Phi Kappa Phi initiates
The following Bethlehem residents were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.
Samantha Kotze was initiated at Alfred University. Johanna Roche was initiated at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
Resident Alpha Sigma Lambda inductee
Julia Schneck of Bethlehem was inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society on April 11 in the Tompkins College of Center Cedar Crest College.
Alpha Sigma Lambda is a national honor society for adult students.
Local DelVal scholarship recipients
Several Bethlehem area residents have been named as Delaware Valley University ’s top three merit-based Admission scholarships.
They are Angela Burleigh, Gavyn Coleman, Anthony D’Amico, Ryan Diehl, Georgia Giannaras, Emilie Hattrell, Sarah Kovalchick and Declan Thompson.
Rosenfield is art exhibitor
Ellen Rosenfield, of Bethlehem, will be among the East Stroudsburg University students who will hold a senior seminar and portfolio in an advanced art student exhibition from April 29 through May 8 in the school’s Madelon Powers Gallery.
Zinczenko is graduation speaker
Dave Zinczenko, ‘91, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Moravian College 2019 commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. May 11 at John Makuvek Field.

Cottrell accepted at DelVal
Leia Cottrell, of Bethlehem, has been accepted as a new student for fall 2019 at Delaware Valley University.
Duplaga in SpringSERVE
King’s College senior and a physician assistant student, Taylor Duplaga of Bethlehem, volunteered with other students for a SpringSERVE (Students Engaged in Reflective Volunteer Experiences) trip to Easton, Massachusets, to work with My Brother’s Keeper. The group collected and made door-to-door deliveries of furniture and food to families in need in eastern Massachusetts.
