Trojan track teams sweep Nazareth
The Parkland track and field teams swept Nazareth last Thursday.
The Trojan girls team won 91-59, while the boys team earned a 100-50 victory.
Shelby Staib (triple jump, discus, shot put) won three events for Parkland, while teammate Mahi Patel (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) won two events. Teammates Aubrey Semler (200), Ava Bendetti (800), Madison Zaun (1600), Megan Kearns (pole vault) and Kendra Yeboah (shot put) won one individual event each.
The Trojans also took two of the three girls relays. Christine Hutchinson, Emily Beers and Emma Tobia teamed up with Patel for first place in the 4x400 relay. Beers, Bendetti, Lauren Williams and Olivia Viccari ran to first place in the 4x800 relay.
In boys events,Parkland’s Mustapha Salau (100, 400) and Adam Klinger (long jump, triple jump) each won two individual events, while teammates Edguardo Rolle Jr. (200), Nathan Reimer (800), Riley Williamson (1600), Nicholas Bower (3200), Romain Rhaian (110 hurdles), Andrew Maitski (300 hurdles) and Mitchell Marciniak (pole vault) were victorious in one event each.
The Trojans swept the boys relays. Sebastian Suriel, Ese Duke, Tyler Viccari and Salau took first place in the 4x100. Salau, Suriel, Noah Colon and Benjamin Esquieres won the 4x400 relay, and the foursome of Reimer, Esquieres, Williamson and Ethan Warren picked up the win in the 4x800 relay.
