Consistency is something that Northampton’s boys lacrosse team is aiming for following a 5-13 campaign a year ago.
Head coach Jace Shively knows that the program has room to grow, but is looking for development and having the team compete every time they step on the turf.
We have a good senior group and my hope is that we at least match our wins from last year,” he said. “As we improve so do other teams, however, we should be able to stay consistent. Our defensive group has definitely improved, and gotten bigger and stronger.”
Back for the Kids are Dylan Boehm (Sr., D), Aiden Jones (Sr., MF) William Steirer (Sr., A), Garret Transue (Sr., M), Matthew Urban (Sr., D), Kyle Wescoe (Sr., M), Matthew Wiest (Sr., G), Damon Hudak (Jr., A), Riley Jones (Jr., LSM), Lucas Colocino (Jr., M), Bradley Wentzel (Jr., D), Ethan Davis-Luizer (So., M), Zakary Schwartz (Sr., M), Braeden Gehris (So., A), Christopher Hedden (So., M), and Aidan Reinhard (So., D).
New players are Nathan Bendekovits (Sr., D), Falcon Kunkle (Sr., M), Justin Roth (Sr., M) Jason Rice (Fr., G) and Travis Cobb (Jr., LSM).
The Kids are off to an 0-4 start and have Easton, Liberty and Emmaus this week.
With their best chance at grabbing their first win of the season against Liberty on Friday, Shively hopes they can kick-start their way toward at least last year’s record.
“Our team goals are to match our record with consistent play,” he said, “allow our underclassmen to improve and grow while leaning on senior leadership.”
