Jeffrey A. Gerhard

Jeffrey A. Gerhard, 62, a longtime resident of Whitehall, died peacefully April 5, 2019, in his home.

He and his wife, Katherine M. “Kathy” (Marushak) Gerhard, were married 40 years

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Henry and Nannette “Nan” (Fetzer) Gerhard Raber, and stepson of June Gerhard and the late Edgar A. Raber.

A 1974 graduate of Whitehall High School, he was a very talented baseball and football player at the school.

A two-time inductee into the Whitehall High School Sports Hall of Fame, he loved coaching baseball and football in both Hokey and Coplay.

He currently was operations manager for the Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority for more than 40 years.

A very social person, he enjoyed his memberships in many area clubs and organizations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Amanda Bashore and husband, Jon, of Whitehall; sons Drew and his wife, Nanci, of New Tripoli, Kurt and wife, Alyssa, of Kempton, and Bruce of Whitehall; his cherished grandchildren Kendall, Derek, Riley and Luke; and sister-in-law Brenda (Hill) Gerhard of Florida.

He was predeceased by brothers Henry “Skip and Ronald Gerhard.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. April 11 in Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, with the Rev. Michael J. Bodnyk officiating.

Visitation will take place 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Interment will be strictly private following the service.

Memorial contributions honoring him may be presented to the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association (HPPA), P.O Box 84, Whitehall, PA 18052

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Whitehall.
