Dolores “Doby” J. Herman, 84, of Allentown, died March 30, 2019, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Richard “Dick” Herman for 51 years.

Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Howard P. and Mabel D. (Oswald) Newhard.

She was a 1953 graduate of Catasauqua High School.

She was a payroll tax supervisor for Finance America, formerly GAC, for 39 years before retiring.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.

She volunteered for the Lions Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepsons, Jeffrey D. and his wife Jane and Jon Michael; two brothers, Douglas and his wife Diane Newhard and Thomas and his wife Connie Newhard; four sisters, Patricia Palencar, Karen Faust, Joan Herman and her husband George Joyce and Betty and her husband Fred Knauss; a brother-in-law, Robert Humanick; two granddaughters, Heather and Jennifer; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail.

She was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Humanick; and a brother, Howard P. Jr.

There will be a viewing 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral services 11 a.m. April 5 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
