Frederick J. Polgar, 83, of Slatington, died March 22, 2019, in his home. He was the husband of the late Frances E. (Filyac) Polgar.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen and Edna (Frankenfield) Polgar.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.

A truck driver for many years at the former Chemical-Leaman Tank Lines, Nazareth, he twice earned a safe driving award for 1 million miles. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters 773, Allentown.

He is survived by four children, Melonie A. Wieder, Constance M. Riddle, Michael J. Polgar and Brenda L. Lee; three grandchildren, Ronnie, Matthew and Dylan; four great-grandchildren, Amy, Allison, Zachery and Brady; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Polgar.
