Ulysses “Junior” Conner Jr., 76, of Whitehall, died March 13, 2019. He was, for 54 years, the life partner of Shirley (Ruth) Conner.

He was a son of the late Ulysses Conner Sr. and Blanche (Bauman) Conner.

He was a carpenter, corrections officer, county sheriff’s department, county constable, photographer and Whitehall High School security officer.

He had a deep passion for cycling, and he devoted much of his time to the Ironton Rail Trail.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Don and his wife Jill of Auburn, Wash., and Daneen and her husband Greg of Whitehall; and five grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Jackson, Katie and Jordan.
