Stephen Papay, 79, of Slatington, died March 14, 2019, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy C. (Finley) Papay for 62 years.

Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late Stephen and Ruth (Kincher) Papay.

He was a shareholder and saw operator in the family business for 48 years until he retired in 2002.

He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Slatington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey A. and his wife Cindy MJ; four grandchildren, Shaun, Ryan, Nikita and Wendy; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Rowan, Brittany, Kayla, Jordan, Erin, Allyssa, Evan and Eden; two great-great-grandchildren, Riley and Bailey; four sisters, Carol Papay-Hough, Ruthann Papay-Musselman, Christine Papay-Hoch and Rosemarie Papay-Feuerstein; and a brother, James Papay.

He was predeceased by a son, Stephen P., who was the husband of Vicki L. Papay; a grandson, Aaron; and a brother, Paul Papay.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
