Martha L. Rummel, 75, of Whitehall, died March 14, 2019, at home. She was the wife of Fred G. Rummel for 49 years.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Hahn) Lauser.
She was a 1961 graduate of Whitehall High School. She earned a degree from Kutztown State Teachers College and a master’s degree in education from Lehigh University.
She began teaching in the Allentown School District and later was a substitute elementary education teacher in the Whitehall-Coplay School District. She then became a design consultant at D&D Furniture, Choice Seating and Furniture Manor.
She was a past president of Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township and played in a card club at Morgan’s Restaurant.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Andrea and her husband Tom Nesfeder of Macungie; a son, Tom and his wife Jill of Whitehall; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Madeline, Kate, Brandon, Joshua and Emma; a brother, Tom Lauser and his wife Roberta; a sister-in-law, Linda and her husband Gunther Kurrasch; and extended family.
