Genevieve Nickischer, 68, of Lehigh Township died Feb. 13, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of Daniel A. Nickischer for 42 years.

Born in Aliquippa, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Sercel.

She was a graduate of both Kutztown and Lehigh universities.

She worked in education for 43 years. She began as an English and reading teacher at Parkland High School. She was an educational consultant in private practice and as a special education administrator in the Allentown School District, as well as an adjunct professor at various colleges in Pennsylvania. A dancer herself, her also worked as a dance teacher.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Nickischer Friel and her husband Michael; a son, Peter and his wife Katie; five grandchildren, Kentyn and Kaden Chambers, Landon Nickischer and James and Eden Zettlemoyer; and a brother, William Sercel of Center Township.

She was predeceased by a brother, Vincent.
