Robert L. Toth

Robert L. Toth, 86, of Coplay, died Feb. 21, 2019. He was the husband of the late Helene S. (Hilferty) Toth for 55 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late George and Bertha (Yost) Toth.

He was in the Korean War.

He was a supervisor at Mack Trucks until he retired after more than 35 years of service. He earned a professional movie projectionist license and showed movies at the Ritz Theater, Coplay, for many years.

He was a member and Eucharistic minister and lector at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay. He belonged to the Holy Name Society and was a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

He was a member of the Mack Management Club and Mack Chorus. He was a member of the American Legion for more than 50 years. He was eastern vice commander for the state of Pennsylvania, a district commander and also the commander and treasurer for the Coplay American Legion Post 426. He also held other district and national positions. He was a member of the honor guard at many veteran services.

He volunteered reading the newspaper for the print handicapped at a radio station, WRRS/RADPRIN, and visited veterans at local nursing homes and those homebound.

He is survived by two sons, Robert P. and his wife Mary Lynne (Shields) of North Catasauqua and Michael and his wife Nicole (Toomey) of Windsor; a daughter, Kristine and her husband Bill Keller of Coplay; four grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Jose Valdez, Bobby and his wife Kelly (Reynolds) and Emily and Ryan Bauer; and a great-granddaughter, Johanna Valdez.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, James, Charles and George; and two sisters, Minnie Csensits and Hilda Seagreaves.
