David “Flyman” J. Tapler, 66, of Palmerton, died Feb. 19, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was the companion of Jewel Bertuzzi for 16 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Rose (Bodish) Tapler.
He was a 1971 graduate of Central Catholic High School.
He was employed in sales for the former Pleoa for many years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
He was an avid fly fisherman and a member of Trout Unlimited.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Tapler of Catasauqua; a son, Shawn of Wilmington, Del.; a brother, Garry and his wife Kathy of Coplay; and a sister, Phyllis and her husband Kenneth Stoudt of Allentown.
