‘Frozen’ comes alive

Inspired by “The Snow Queen,” a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, and produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Frozen is ranked the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

The movie is about Anna, a fearless princess who goes off on a journey to find her estranged sister, Elsa, whose powers have unwittingly trapped their kingdom in winter permanently.

Frozen’s popularity was evident on Friday, Feb. 16, when young fans of the film were invited to the Bethlehem Township Community Center for a program on the movie. At 9:30 in the morning 30 young children arrived, accompanied by 40 parents, as well as some younger siblings.

Most of the kids were dressed in costumes inspired by the film. The program began with light refreshments. Then the guests of honor, portraying Elsa and Anna, arrived in costume. The children watched intently, sometimes singing along, while Elsa and Anna serenaded them with songs from the film.

The two then led all the attendees in the singing of “When You Wish Upon a Star.” Finally, excited young participants came forward to be photographed with their heroines.

Early arrivals for the party, cousins Chloe (left) and Annabella, wait for the arrival of Elsa and Anna.
