The District 11 Wrestling Championships will get underway Friday afternoon at and culminate Saturday evening at Liberty High School.
Emmaus has one No. 2 seed in defending district champ Caden Wright, a junior who took first place last year at 160 when he beat Bethlehem Catholic’s Mikey Lewis in the title bout. This year Wright (18-2) is seeded behind Stroudsburg sophomore Lenny Pinto (28-5) at 170.
The Hornets have a No. 5 seed in 138-pounder Jackson Karrat, and six other grapplers seeded in the top 10 in their weight class.
District team champ Bethlehem Catholic has five No. 1 seeds, while Stroudsburg has three and Northampton and Bangor each have two grapplers at the top of their respective bracket.
The top five wrestlers at districts will move on to next week’s Class 3A PIAA Northeast Regional Tournament at Liberty.
