Doris C. Springer
Doris C. Springer, 80, of Berlin, Md., and formerly of Cherryville, died Feb. 11, 2019, at her residence in Ocean Pines, Md. She was the wife of Dennis R. Springer for 61 years.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. Sr. and Helen V. (Mill) Fritchman.
She was a 1956 graduate of Allen High School.
She was last employed by the U.S. Postal Service as postmaster of the Cherryville post office before retiring in 1994. Before that, she was a clerk in the Allentown post office. She worked for the Department of Labor and served as office manager for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Allentown. She was secretary to the executive director of Phoebe-Devitt Home, Allentown, and was a switchboard operator for the former Bell Telephone, Allentown.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville, where she was secretary for the building committee chairman in the 1970s.
She was a Lehigh Township Lioness charter member.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Glenn D. of Nazareth; a daughter, Elizabeth A. and her husband Aaron Schisler of Northampton; a brother, Dennis L. Fritchman of Newport Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Bonnie Lou and her husband Leonard Gunshore of Allentown, Karen L. and her husband John Nestor of Emmaus and Deborah Fontanez and her husband Kevin Mohan of Lake Oswego, Ore.; five grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica and Emily Springer and Adam and Sarah Schisler; a great-grandson, Caleb Springer; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by nine sisters and a brother.
