Phyllis L. “Cookie” Berger, 77, of Slatington, died Feb. 9, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus, Bethlehem.
She was the wife of the late James E. Berger.
Born Dec. 10, 1941, in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Edna M. (Lorey) Oswald.
A sewing machine operator at the former Paris Accessories in Walnutport she retired after 20 years.
She was a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Alert Team.
Her survivors include sons Franklin R. “Spankey” Berger and his acquaintance, Darla A. Fakla, of Slatington, Robert J. Oswald of Slatington; granddaughter Kayla Smith; and siblings Theodore Oswald of Slatington, Lewis Oswald of Colorado, Ronald Oswald of Macungie and Gladys Follweiler of Schnecksville.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Gordon A. Camp officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
