John A. Steinmacher, 70, of Orefield, died on Feb. 5, 2019, in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.

He and his wife Randa C. (Reinecke) Steinmacher were married 47 years last May 15.

Born July 4, 1948, in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Anton C. and Marie D. (Klena) Steinmacher.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree with high honors from Rutgers University in 1979.

A quality manager at Cigna, Easton, for 12 years before retiring, he previously worked at Prudential AARP, Fogelsville, for many years.

He was a member of the NRA and Mensa International.

His passion besides his family, was reading and running, having completed a total of seven marathons, most notably the 100th running of the Boston Marathon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason M. Steinmacher and his companion, Stacey Rogoski and her son, Kolby Wyckoff of Orefield; daughter Kristen C. Long of Little River S.C.; grandson Damon M. Long; siblings Anton C. Steinmacher of Keansburg, N.J., and Cathy Strbo of Union Beach N.J.
