Patriots fall to Parkland, Emmaus

Freedom’s swim team faced two powerhouses in one week and even though the team scores were losses, the Patriots produced some top individual times against both Parkland and Emmaus.

Freedom hosted Parkland last Tuesday when the Patriots’ medley relay teams just missed a first place finish. Abby Burnette, Aliah Corrado, Sage Hillier, and Hallie Smith came in second in 2:04.82, and Andrew Ehret, Al Bell, Danny Connell, and Dylan Stahl were out touched with a time of 1:46.32 to 1:45.70.

Ehret came in second in the next event, the 200 free, with a time of 1:58.92, and Danny Connell was third in 2:00.79.

Burnette was second in the 50 free with a time of 27.55 and Sydney Straka was third in 28.07.

Bell won the 50 free for the boys with a time of 21.99.

Sarah Gill placed third in diving with a score of 233.05.

Smith took third place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:18.31, and Dominic Fresoli took third place in the same event in 1:03.10.

Corrado tied for second place with Parkland’s Isabel Sheridan in the 100 free with a time of 1:00.96, and Sophie Twigger was third in 1:02.21.

Bell won the 100 free in 48.06, and Dylan Stahl was second in 56.73.

Hillier came in third in the 500 free with a time of 6:12.76, and Connell was second in the same event with a time of 5:20.64.

In the 200 free relay, Burnette, Twigger, Hillier, and Corrado placed second in 1:53.82.

Ehret was second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.24.

Burnette won the 100 breaststroke for the girls in 1:14.22, and Sahil Shah won the breaststroke for the boys in 1:08.67.

Stahl, Bell, Ehret, and Fresoli were second in the 400 free relay in 3:34.65.

Last Thursday, the Patriots traveled to Emmaus.

Burnette won the 200 IM in 2:20.64, and Ehret won the same event in 2:08.38.

Gill won the diving event with a score of 208.45.

Bell took first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.07, and Ehret took first place in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.99.

Shah won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.09, and Burnette came in second in the same event in 1:11.96.
