Cops ‘n’ Kids spring schedule announced
Cops ‘n’ Kids returns with a roster of community events this spring. All events take place on Saturdays at the Fowler Family Southside Center Cops ‘n’ Kids Reading Room, 511 E. Third Street, Bethlehem, from 10 a.m. - noon, unless otherwise noted.
Feb. 9 - We’re All the Same on the Inside. To celebrate Black History Month, children will hear the story of Mae Jemison, the first black woman astronaut in space, and those of other brave girls who broke through barriers. For ages 6 and older.
Feb. 23 - Where Do Stories Come From? Author Paul Acampora will share and discover real-life stories and adventures that make favorite characters and books come alive. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite picture books, novels or their own writing to share. All ages.
March 16 - We Light Up Your Life! Children will have an “electrifying” experience and explore the magic of science with experiments and demonstrations led by the staff at Lutron Electronics. Ages 3 and older.
March 30 - One Determined Moth Changed His Life and Created an Evolution! Anything can happen when you open your mind to a new path. Author Jannie Pilgrim will tell the story of a determined moth who changed his life and started an evolution. All ages.
April 13 - Danny and the Dinosaur. Participants will learn about Danny the Dinosaur’s adventures and create their own dino-friend with recycled materials. For ages 5 and older.
April 27 - Celebration of Reading…and the Arts and Sciences! Fun for the whole family, with free books, activities, reading stations, food, and entertainment. 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. No registration required.
May 11 - Mi Cuerpo-My Body. Participants will enjoy a Spanish class, complete with live music, puppetry, dancing, interactive activities, and an interactive Spanish read-aloud, while learning about body parts. Ages 3 and older.
