Chosen Words
My body is aging, my mind is not,
I’m still giving life everything I’ve got.
Don’t sit and cry ’cause your life’s passing by,
Keep fighting, and give life a ‘shot.’
A “shot” of pleasure, a shot of “joy;”
A “shot” of friendship, a brand-new toy.
A trip to the mall for a day of fun,
A day at the beach, to soak up some sun.
You’re never too old to learn new things,
It’s exciting to see what it might bring.
Keep your mind sharp, Try doing new stuff;
You’ll see that you just can’t learn enough.
Don’t sit at home all alone,
If you need to, then simply
pick up the phone.
Talk with a friend, have a few laughs,
Watch the news of the day,
to help the time pass.
There are lots of good programs
to watch on TV.
Some of them bring much pleasure to me.
I enjoy music, there’s lots of that;
And game shows galore to make you laugh.
Don’t sit and pout when you’re feeling blue,
Only “you” can take care of “you.”
Keep your mind working. Take a nice walk,
Find someone to sit with,
and have a good talk.
Go through old pictures,
they might make you laugh,
Think of old memories of the past;
Enjoy every moment, of every day,
Because
Life does go too fast.
