Melvin L. Schwindenhammer, 78, of Allentown, died Jan. 20, 2019, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Nancy E. (Silfies) Schwindenhammer for 51 years.
Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late John E. and Ellen M. (Kline) Schwindenhammer.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
He was a forklift operator and material handler for Wenco and the former Hubble Bell Corporation for many years until he retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Ritter and Linda and her husband Leonard Landis; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
He was predeceased by three brothers; and two sisters.
There will be a calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Jan. 25 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
