Liberty distance runner Greta Stuckey took first place in the 800 meter run when the Hurricanes returned to indoor track competition on Jan. 12 at the Golden Bear High School Invitational at Kutztown University.
Stuckey’s time was 2:31.27.
The Hurricane senior was also on the 4x4 relay team, along with Gabby Phillips, Essynce Boyz, and Yamilette Ferrufino placing second with a time of 4:23.70 and breaking Liberty’s indoor track & field school record.
Fellow Hurricane Jaida Davis came in fourth in the shot put with a distance of 32-06.50.
In boys’ events, another Liberty indoor track & field school record was broken by Casey Frank, Cole Frank, Darlyn Fermin, and Ryan Wycherley in the 4x8 relay with a time of 8:40.85. They placed second overall at Kutztown.
Christian Tackett placed fourth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.00 and fifth in the 400 meter dash in 53.98.
Sander Sahaydak placed fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 41-00.00, and Alex Roan placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 12-00.00.
Fermin, Devon West, Sahaydak, and Wycherley had a sixth place finish in the 4x4 relay with a time of 3:48.28.
