Alfred “Whitey” F. Lederer, 91, of Whitehall, died recently. He was the husband of Ruth Lederer for 69 years.
Born in Raabfidisch, Austria, and raised in Coplay, he was a son of the late Alfred and Theresa (Schanta) Lederer.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was employed at the Coplay Cement Company for 42 years.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
He was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund for many years where he bowled and sang in the choir. He played the button box accordion. He was a member of the Hokendauqua Legion Post 739.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald with Donna of Danielsville and Daniel with Michelle of Walnutport; five grandchildren, Aaron, Molly, Rachel, Alec and Lukas; and four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Leah, Jase and Cora.
He was predeceased by a son, Alfred; a daughter, Cindy; and a sister, Theresa Klucsarics.
