Frank Alotta, 87, of Allentown, died Jan. 5, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the husband of the late Loretta (Rota) Alotta.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Lena) Alotta.
He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Allentown.
Before retiring, he worked for Western Electric, owned Frankie Alotta’s Café and lastly for Mack Trucks as an expeditor.
He served in the Navy Reserves.
Mostly, he will be remembered for his professional boxing career at Madison Square Garden, Philadelphia and the Allentown areas, for which his athletic skills inducted him into the L.V. Hall of Fame for boxing and football.
His survivors include sons James F. and his wife, Tina, Michael A. and Frank Jr.; sisters Angeline and Nettie; and grandchildren Taylor, Shania, James Jr., Frank and Nicholas.
