Roger R. Bodnar

Roger R. Bodnar, 75, of Northampton, died Dec. 17, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of the late Anna Marie (Erschen) Bodnar.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Charles and Nesttie (Kyra) Bodnar.

He was in the 1st battalion, 19th infantry and 24th infantry divisions of the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.

He was a machinist for many years for Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Valley Heavy Forge Company.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.

He was a 49-year member and a president of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club. He served on Northampton Borough’s council and planning commission and was a warden for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

He is survived by three sons, Michael C. and his wife Catherine, Stephen R. and his wife Coletta and Christopher P. and his wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Patrick, Evelyn, Nicholas, Chase and Cole; three brothers, Theodore and his wife Janette, Charles and his wife Patricia and James and his wife Mary Ann; a sister, Veronica and her husband Robert Kurtz; nieces; nephews; and his companion, Snooky Matejicka.
