LHS falls to Trojans
Liberty’s swim team fell to Parkland last week, but the Hurricanes had some noteable swims in the boys’ 107-78 loss and the girls’ 124-62 loss to the Trojans.
Samantha Taylor, Natalie Richardson, Talia Lehr, and Abby Mack just missed a first place finish in the first event, the 200 medley relay, racing to a time of 1:56.47 to Parkland’s 1:55.82.
Yousef Ismail, Dylan Zukawski, Patrick Gilhool, and Jake Evert did win the medley relay for the boys with a time of 1:42.25.
In the 200 free, Kay Wetmore placed third in 2:04.58, and Addison Collins placed second in 1:57.32.
In the 200 IM, Taylor took second place in 2:18.69, and Ismail was third in 2:17.88.
Mack and Greta Stuckey placed second and third, respectively, in the 50 free with times of 26.05 and 26.46, and Evert, Jonathan Drago, and Sam Capwell had a one-two-three finish, respectively, in the same event with times of 21.10, 23.68, and 24.03.
In the 100 butterfly, Wetmore was outtouched by Parkland, placing second in 1:02.47. Lehr placed third in the same event in 1:03.55.
In the boys’ race, Gilhool won the fly in 58.89.
Mack took second place in the 100 free in 56.64, and Evert took first place in 46.47.
Maddy Drager came in third in the 500 free in 5:49.37, and Collins was also third in 5:24.70.
In the 200 free relay, Evert, Drago, Capwell, and Collins clinched a first place finish in 1:32.48, and Taylor, Stuckey, Richardson, and Mack came in second in the same event in 1:45.09.
Taylor won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.98, and Gilhool placed second in 59.72.
Richardson placed third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.79.
In the final event of the day, Ismail, Collins, Drago, and Capwell won the 400 free relay in 3:32.65, and Stuckey, Sarah Park, Wetmore, and Lehr came in third in 4:01.02.
