The Bethlehem School Board held its annual reorganization meeting Dec. 3, and Board President Michael Faccinetto, who had been noticeably missing from the past few committee and board meetings, was nominated and approved to retain his seat for the upcoming year. He apologized for his recent absences, which he attributed to his classwork at Lehigh University and a particular professor who is not willing to excuse Faccinetto from class.
Faccinetto, who has an undergraduate degree in insurance from Penn State, is presently nearing completion of his masters in education.
He is well connected to the education system; throughout the past decade he has served BASD, Bethlehem Vo-Tech, Minsi Trail Counsel 502 and the Bethlehem Area Education Foundation.
He also mentioned that his one-year term as president of the Pennsylvania School Board Association would be wrapping this month. The board will remain unchanged for next year, with Shannon Patrick maintaining her position as vice president.
