NORTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP: Schneck House featuring cookies and clear toys

The Upper Lehigh Historical Society will sell homemade Christmas cookies and clear toy candy at the Schneck House 1-4 p.m. Dec. 16,

Everyone is invited to visit the historic Schneck log house along Route 873 across from McDonald’s in Schnecksville and purchase the special holiday treats.

Bingo has resumed Monday nights in the Schnecksville Fire Company.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. Early bird bingo begins 6 p.m. Regular games start at 6:45 p.m. The kitchen will be open.

“We’re up and running after being down for a year and a half,” board member Fay Solt reports. “We want to build it up again.”

The building was out of service due to roof damage which occurred in June 2017.

There will not be bingo Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have Christmas Eve services 3 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 24.

The Vine Church, at the Schnecksville Grange hall, 5322 Route 873, will have a candlelight service 5 p.m. on Dec. 24.

The worship band, which includes guitar, piano, drums and a vocalist, will provide special Christmas music.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will have a family service with children’s message at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.

A traditional candlelight service will be offered at 8 p.m.

Come early for 20 minutes of music prelude before both services.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, is offering a winter solstice, longest-night service at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

This will be a quiet worship time with music, prayers and communion.

Union UCC will have Christmas Eve services for 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

All will have candlelight, communion and special music.

Faith Wesleyan Church, Route 309, Orefield, is offering a live nativity 7-9 p.m. Dec. 14, 15, and 16.

Inside the church, visitors will experience a night in Bethlehem with a cast wearing period costumes.

Small shops and merchants will offer hands-on activities and foods to sample in the recreated city of Christ’s birth.

There will be family photos, cookies and cocoa.

The church welcomes the community to come and experience the true reason for Christmas in a way as never before.
