Joseph F. Giedl, 87, formerly of Whitehall, died Dec. 3, 2018, at his residence at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Anna (Iwanschitz) Giedl of Cedarbrook.

Born in McKees Rock, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Nickisher) Giedl.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.

He was a chassis technician for Mack Trucks, Allentown, for many years before retiring.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Arlene L. and her husband Kevin Stephens; two sons, John and Ronald; a brother, William; a sister, Margaret Schuck; six grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., both Dec. 6 at the funeral home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay.
