Frederick A. Scherer, 77, of Slatington, died Dec. 3, 2018, at home.

He and his wife Diane M. (Geiger) Scherer were married 55 years.

Born April 21, 1941, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick J.A. and Stella D. (Eckroth) Scherer.

He was an independent truck driver for many years before retiring.

He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Donald F. Scherer (Kim) of Whitehall, Donna M. Bush (George) of Woodbridge, Va., Diana L. Miller of Slatington; stepsister Marlene E. Kokolus of Germansville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Earl F.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 6 in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Kris P. Snyder-Samuelson officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
