John and Joanne (Koch) Fisher
Joanne M. (Koch) Fisher, 86 and John O. “Jack” Fisher, 91, of Salisbury Township, died from a motor vehicle accident in Lehigh Township. Joanne was pronounced dead at the scene on Nov. 8 and Jack died Nov. 9, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. They shared 55 years of marriage.
Joanne was born in Fountain Hill and was the daughter of the late G. Joseph and Edna (Benfer) Koch. She was a graduate of Allentown High School. She worked as a secretary for Atty. Carl Hessinger for 52 years and was also a secretary for St. Mark’s UCC for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and volunteering at St. Mark’s bazaar.
Jack was born in Nesquehoning and was a son of the late Mabel E. (Broscious) and Harry E. Fisher Sr. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a mechanic in the specialty gases department of Air Products in Hometown for 25 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Eastern Salisbury Fire Company and the Fountain Hill American Legion. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening.
They were members of St. Mark’s UCC, Allentown. They enjoyed camping together.
They are survived by a son, John J., of Allentown and two nephews. Jack is also survived by a brother, Harry E. Jr. and his wife Clea, of Allentown. He was predeceased by a sister Edna Shupp.
Joanne was predeceased by a brother Paul Koch and sisters Miriam Koch and Ruth Wallis.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Nov. 15 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A visitation for family and friends will be held 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the service at the funeral home, friends and family are invited to a reception at St. Mark’s UCC.
