Goldie M. Ritter
Goldie M. Ritter, 85, of Lehigh Center, Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died Nov. 8, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She was the widow of Carl R. Ritter.
Born in 1933 on the family farm in Seipstown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Verna (Sechler) Rupp.
She graduated from the former South Whitehall High School and then from Joyce Art Beauty School.
She worked in the Wegmans Floral Department for six years.
Before that, she worked in the Parkland School District cafeteria, and earlier she was a grocer for the family owned business in Allentown.
She attended Faith Evangelical Free Church, Trexlertown.
She acted and sang with the MunOpCo Opera Company in shows “Singing in the Rain,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” “Swing,” and “Christmas”; the Senior Center Community Chorus; the Jacksonville Summer Theater – “Music Man”; was a hand model for the Sweetwater Film, New York “Earl and Puppy”; church choirs; and the Paul W. Folklore Group.
She volunteered at Ironton Elementary School for 10 years; and in the gift shop of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown for many years.
Her survivors include a daughter Cindy Ritter of Allentown; and brother Fred Rupp of Kuhnsville.
She was predeceased by brothers Herman and Ira Rupp; and sisters Margaret Sassaman, Mildred Rodenbach, Carolyn Rauch and Leah Ziegler.
