LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Candy, costumes in Hellertown

Saucon Valley held its annual Spirit Parade in Hellertown Oct. 31. Large crowds came out and lined the streets of Hellertown despite the cool brisk conditions. Although the skies were sunny, the day had breezy conditions with highs only in the 40s. The parade participants congregated at the Saucon Valley School District campus and started the parade route on Walnut Street, then on to Main Street, Water Street, Rentzheimer Street, Durham Street and finally to Constitution Avenue. The parade included police cars, fire trucks, municipal trucks, tractors, local school marching bands and many unique vehicles and costumes. Kids especially had a good time as parade participants threw handfuls of candy to the crowds. Based on all the smiles and positive reactions of those in attendance, the event was a big success.

Crowds of families line the streets of Hellertown to get a good view of the parade. Parade participants handed out or tossed candy to the kids from vehicles.
