The Parkland cross country teams finished off the regular season last week with a meet at Lehigh Parkway.
The Parkland boys team, which had it’s top five runners finish 1-5 at the meet, went 5-0 to cap an undefeated season at 17-0. The Trojans beat Emmaus (15-48), Dieruff (15-50), Central Catholic (15-48), Whitehall (15-50) and Allen (15-50).
Riley Williamson took first place at the meet in 16:52, followed by teammates Nick Bower, Matt Santacoloma, Nate Reimer and Ethan Warren in second through fifth place, respectively.
Parkland’s Madison Zaun won the girls race in 19:25 as the Trojan girls team went 4-1, beating Central Catholic (15-50), Whitehall (21-40), Allen (15-50) and Dieruff (15-50). Emmaus edged Parkland 27-28 in the girls race to finish off an undefeated season and hand Parkland (16-1) its only loss of 2018.
Julianna Elsesser finished in fifth place for Parkland, followed by Emily Beers (eighth), Lily Goese (ninth) and Ava Bendetti (11th) to round out the top five.
The Trojans were back in action Tuesday at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Championships. See next week’s Press for coverage of that meet.
