FHS wins EPC tennis tile

The Freedom Patriots clinched the EPC tennis tournament championship last Wednesday at Freedom High School.

The Patriots had one gold medalist, five silver medalists, and two bronze medalists.

Freedom sophomore Tashanna Smith won gold at one singles after defeating Easton’s Elessa Jacobs, 10-2.

Natalie Sinai won silver at two singles after her match with Becahi’s Belen Blasco, won by Blasco, 10-7.

Anjali Chhugani and Olivia Chhugani also won silver after their two doubles match with Allentown Central Catholic’s Jess Davis and Emma Sweterlitsch, won by Central, 10-9.

At three doubles, silver medals were awarded to Twinkle Gupta and Megan Smith after their match against Becahi’s Cecile Szollas and Kaitlyn Hartman, who won gold, 10-7.

Margaret Cavanaugh and Hannah Nicholls won the bronze at four doubles after defeating Nazareth’s Maggie Lefebvre and Rebecca Hahn, 8-4.

Becahi’s Brenna Magliochetti also won bronze after defeating Nazareth’s Halle DeNardo, 8-0, and Becahi’s Caitlin Maloney and Taylor Adams took bronze at two doubles when they defeated Nazareth’s Samantha Sands and Katie Kresge, 9-8.
