Robert J. Sarmir

Robert J. “Bob” Sarmir, 62, of Breinigsville, died Oct. 9, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit surrounded by his loving family.

His strength, determination and courage remain a true inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

He was the husband of Elizabeth “Beth” (Fittrer) Sarmir.

The son of the late Joseph and Madeline Sarmir, he was raised in Allentown where he and his family were owners of Green Pine Inn/Caseys Bar and Nightclub.

He spent 40 years working as operations manager at Greentree Nurseries.

He was very proud of his career beautifying and caring for the Earth.

He will always be remembered for his generous spirit and true desire to help others.

An avid sports enthusiast, he was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan whose favorite place in the world was St. Maarten.

In addition to his adoring wife, he is survived by his beloved daughters Lindsay Cuvo and husband Chad of Pickerington, Ohio, and Amie Gebhardt and husband William of Harleysville; and grandchildren Logan and Zoe Cuvo, the joy of his life.

He felt extremely blessed to be a stepfather as well to Amber (Wells) Hearn and husband Brandon of Wyncote, and Britani Wells and fiancé Scott Boyer of Macungie.

He had a special relationship with his five siblings: brothers Joseph Sarmir (Carol), Edward Sarmir (Judy Levit) and Richard Sarmir (Janine), and sisters Jane Zimmerman (Paul) and Michelle Winklespect (Robert).

He is also survived by his caring mother-in-law Vera Fittrer; brother-in-law Robert Fittrer (Jermel); and nieces and nephews.

He attended First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.

Contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Immunotherapy Research or to Lehigh Valley Hospice, Attention Inpatient Unit.
