Richard B. Wieand, 89, of Emmaus, died Oct. 8, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Judith M. (Underwood) Wieand. They were married for 67 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Albert B. and Katherine (Smith) Wieand.

He was a 1946 graduate of Emmaus High School, serving as class president and a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg College.

He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a partner with his brother at Wieand and Company, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the Emmaus Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow award.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Barbara and her husband Randolph Schueck and Janice and her husband Richard Rickert; son-in-law, Dale Peters; siblings, Robert, Nancy Reimert, and Albert; grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Christopher Plominski, Christopher, Randy, Kyle and Stephanie; great-grandson, Noah. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan A. Peters.
