At their Sept. 25 meeting, Hanover Township Supervisors voted unanimously to advertise a new peddling and soliciting ordinance. This one will contain provisions under which residents can request that no door-to-door salesman visits them.
Manager Jay Finnigan said that, if the changes are adopted, residents can subscribe to a “Do Not Knock” list, similar to a “Do Not Call” list in place against telephone solicitors.
“That works well,” said Supervisor Steve Salvesen, in a touch of sarcasm.
Paving continues. Supervisors awarded a paving bid of $99,954.92 to Bracalente Contruction to pave Old Airport and First Responder roads. They also authorized a $250,924.56 payment to Schlough Inc. for re-paving Macada Road.
The supervisors voted to renew the bingo license application for the community center. When calling the roll, all supervisors answered yes except John Nagle.
His answer was, “Bingo!”
Finnigan announced that next year’s budget will be introduced Oct. 9, with a possible vote on Nov 13.
