Frank “Fats” J. Bauer, 90, of Northampton, died Oct. 4, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Katherine (Bilder) Bauer for 69 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Ulrich Sr. and Elizabeth (Reiter) Bauer.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He worked at the former Sandora/Tarkett for many years.

He was a member of the former Our Lady of Hungary Church, presently Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.

He was a member of the Friendly Fifties and Knights of Columbus and was a pierogi volunteer for the former St. Nicholas Ukrainian Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lois (Grace); a son, Jeffrey; two grandsons, Jason and his wife Virginia and Joby and his wife Michelle; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Elizabeth and Nicholas; a sister, Ann Gawecki; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Bauer; and five brothers and sisters, Teresa, Joseph, John, Mary (Mitzi) and Ulrich Jr.
