Thomas Michak Sr., 83, formerly of Kempton, died Sept. 29, 2018, in Kutztown Manor, Kutztown.

He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Leibensperger) Michak, who died in 2002.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William and Eva (Schmoyer) Michak.

He was a boiler maker for the former McDermotts Steel Company, Allentown, for more than 30 years.

His survivors include a daughter, Linda D., wife of Robert Clark of Whitehall; son Thomas (Susan) Michak Jr. of Fogelsville; sister Pearl Leibensperger of Fleetwood; grandchildren Allen Clark and Candace Michak; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by sisters Eva Reinhart and Shirley Gillet, and his grandson Michael Richard Lackner.

His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Oct. 9 in Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066, with a calling period at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Gary Whittington will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent directly to the funeral home to help offset his final expenses.
