Donald R. Wieand, 84, of Allentown, died Sept. 27, 2018, in his home.

He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Eisenhard) Wieand.

Born Aug. 16, 1934, in Stiles, Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late Martin C. and Ella H. (DeLong) Wieand.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era.

A water treatment technician at Lucent Technologies, Allentown, for 20 years, he retired in 2001.

Before that, he was a mechanic for the former Modern Transfer, Allentown.

His survivors include a son David M. Wieand at home; daughters Nancy J. Long and her husband, Jeffrey, of Allentown, Jane E. Hartzell of Nazareth; sister Betty L. McGee of Allentown; and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Althea Best, Stanley, Dale, Willard and Dennis Wieand.
