John J. Senchak Jr., 73, of Whitehall, died Sept. 16, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Broadhead) Senchak for 32 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John J. Sr. and Helen (Anderko) Senchak.

He was a 1963 graduate of Dieruff High School.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a boatswain’s mate on the USS Telfair.

He was a nurse’s tech for 19 years for Lehigh Valley Hospital before he retired. Before that, he was a printer in the office and plant of Western Union for 20 years.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he was a former council member, lector, usher and Eucharistic minister.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Keith M. and his fiancee Annie Cope, Brian D. and his wife Mercedes, William J. II and his wife Carey Meyer and Chris J. and his wife Yurber Meyer; a sister, Charlotte Senchak; two grandchildren, Evan and Cameron Senchak; four stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
