Geraldine A. Wentz, 91, of Kutztown, formerly of Slatington, died Sept. 19, 2018, in Kutztown Manor.

She was the wife of the late Russell Wentz Jr.

Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Washington Township, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Mabel A. (Christman) Wanamaker.

She was a sewing machine operator at the former Cross Country Clothes, Whitehall, for 20 years, before retiring in 1988.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township, where she was president of the Women’s Guild for 14 years.

She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed crafting.

Her survivors include children James R. Wentz (Dawn) of Slatington, Janice M. Wentz of Germansville; brother Harlan G. (Nancy) Wanamaker of Slatington; granddaughters Jennifer D. Loch (Dale Sr.) of New Tripoli and Charlene J. Muse of Slatington; great-grandchildren Dale Jr., Sheyanne, and Austin.

She was predeceased by siblings Stanley Wanamaker, Lorraine Atherolt, Lester J. Wanamaker, Willard J. Wanamaker and Berdine E. Muth.

Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.

A private interment will take place at Heidelberg Union Cemetery, Heidelberg Township.
